Miss Universe Tanzania: Empower Beyond

Woman with stars. What does it truly take?

Tanzania is witnessing a beauty revolution — one that’s bigger than crowns, sashes, and smiles. This year’s Miss Universe Tanzania 2025 carries the powerful slogan “Empower Beyond”, a rallying call for women who are more than beauty queens. It’s about brains, purpose, and the power to be kioo cha jamii — a mirror of society. For the first time, there’s no age limit from 18 and above, welcoming women whether married or single, mothers or childless — proving that true empowerment knows no boundaries.

In November 2025, one extraordinary young woman will step onto the global stage in Thailand, representing Tanzania among the world’s finest delegates. But here’s the twist — this is no ordinary pageant. Empower Beyond challenges contestants to champion a cause close to their heart, tell their authentic story, and inspire their communities while also marketing Tanzania as a dream destination.

And what a story Tanzania has to tell. From award-winning beaches ranked No. 1 globally in 2024, to vast national parks teeming with the Big Five — including the largest lion population in the world — to our rich cultural heritage, history, and breathtaking landscapes, this country has it all. But it takes someone intentional, articulate, and passionate to carry this narrative to the world stage.

A New Era Under Millen Happiness Magese

The woman at the helm of this transformation is none other than Millen Happiness Magese — former Miss Tanzania, international model, and now the National Director of Miss Universe Tanzania under her luxury tourism and lifestyle brand, Millen Privé & Co Lifestyle. Her arrival has redefined the pageant.

Last year’s delegate, Judith Ngussa, had to take on double duty as both contestant and her own director due to a leadership vacuum. This year, things have taken a 180-degree turn — from chaos to class. Miss Universe Tanzania is no longer “just a beauty pageant” but an Empower Beyond reality TV show, airing live every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on Star Times Swahili Channel.

The Hunt for Tanzania’s Finest

With a judging panel of unmatched experience including Magese herself, Miss Universe 2024 Judith Ngussa, and global talent scout Joram Muzira of Joram Model Management — the search has been meticulous. The team travelled across Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma, Mbeya, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam, scouting for women with substance and star quality.

The results? Out of hundreds of ambitious young women, only 35 contestants made it to bootcamp in Dar es Salaam. And this is no typical lineup, these women are pharmacists, entrepreneurs, lawyers, marketers, journalists, accountants, therapists, beauticians, content creators, and more. Their diverse professional backgrounds merge into one powerful mission: to learn, grow, and become the ultimate Tanzanian ambassador.

The Road to August 23rd

Bootcamp has been ongoing over weeks of training, challenges, and mentorship, with 15 finalists remaining, sharpening their public speaking, leadership, advocacy, cultural promotion, and runway skills. Each step brings them closer to the grand finale on 23rd August 2025 at the Super Dome, Masaki – Dar es Salaam, where only one will claim the title of Miss Universe Tanzania 2025.

This isn’t just about finding a beauty queen. This is about finding a woman who can carry Tanzania’s pride, potential, and story across the globe. A woman who embodies Empower Beyond — beauty with impact, voice with vision.

So… What’s Your Story? Because for Miss Universe Tanzania 2025, the answer could change the world.
